Here in the mountains of Eastern Tennessee we have for the past 25 years been supported by a five-county region of dedicated friends, U-pickers and food service businesses.  Our interest and pride in providing high quality, clean, nutritious, organic foods have kept us energized and on the job.

We believe that household food gardens and garden-scale food production is the most important form of agriculture. Our goal is to continue to be a part of a larger, more vibrant Southern Sustainable Food Network that supplies the most nutritious, flavorful, and healthy food possible.  We especially aim to have fun and wear smiles while being productive. Our produce is high quality, flavorful, totally organic, and made in the USA.  We currently supply local homes and restaurants with reasonably priced high quality organic produce. 

We never use synthetic chemical fertilizers, herbicides, or pesticides.

Since 1981 our specialty has been organic Rabbiteye Blueberries.  Our picking season is July 15th through labor Day, weekends only sunrise to sunset.  In 2006 we began garden expansion, producing elephant garlic, Yukon Gold potatoes, San Marzano (a wonderful old Italian paste tomato) and pesto basil for market.  In 2009 we plan to have an even greater selection of produce including, but not limited to: elephant garlic, garlic, leeks, tomatoes, potatoes, shallots, lettuce, summer and winter squash, and basil.  We also produce and market our own organic infused vinegar.  Our intention is to be responsive to customer needs, so feel free to contact me with your needs.

Hoot Owl Hollow is located in the head of a small wooded valley in the beautiful Upper Clinch River Watershed, just 30 minutes from Cumberland Gap National Historical Park and Norris Lake.  We encourage primitive camping here so that you can get the jump on picking Blueberries in the cool of the morning.  Maximize your quietude, wildlife viewing, and coolness of the surrounding hills and woods by camping overnight.  Bring everything you need, there are no facilities or amenities at this time.  Pack it in, and please pack it out.  And of course no littering.  Keep Tennessee Beautiful. Click Map for larger view.
